Sports News Blitz launches Welcome to TASC: Relegation to Redemption

Sports News Blitz, which is powered by Sip Media Solutions, are proud to announce a new sponsorship deal and Youtube series which will follow the Leeds Trinity University men’s football third team’s 2024/25 campaign.

Welcome to TASC, which in no way will resemble Welcome to Wrexham (honest), will feature behind-the-scenes footage and post-match interviews as the team (known as TASC) aim to redeem themselves following relegation last season.

Sports News Blitz Co Founders Simon Wilkes and Matt Dudley worked with Leeds Trinity Men’s Football chairman Kieran Simpson to pull the project together after the latter pair hatched the idea over a pint (or two).

Broadcast journalism student Matt and sports journalism student Adam Nash are the main content creators for the series, which forms part of their final-year project at Leeds Trinity University in Horsforth, Leeds.

They both also happen to play for the TASC third team, so can provide the inside track from the changing room and coach journeys as well as the action on the pitch.

The TASC team’s road to redemption will be showcased on the Sports News Blitz Youtube channel, with plenty of social media content going out on X, Instagram and Tik Tok too.

Having not won a single league game in their relegation campaign, TASC’s 3rd team began the new season with a 7-1 drubbing in Sheffield.

But ahead of their first home game on Wednesday, October 16, Matt presented some Sports News Blitz-branded training tops to the players before a Monday night training session.

Simon then gave a motivational speech, saying: “I want these shirts to change everything - but most of all your mindset.

“In 10 years’ time you will remember this season. You will all meet up and know that you experienced something special.

“You will laugh about the matches, the coach trips, the celebrations…and we are filming it all, so you can show it to your kids.

“Make it count. Last season doesn’t matter. Last week doesn’t matter.

“We are filming your redemption - and It Starts Today.

“Tonight is just a training session - but take it seriously.

“Run faster…tackle harder…close down with intent.

“Win the ball…demand the ball…take risks, and be fearless.

“With this mentality you will create moments - tackles, goals and skills.

“We are capturing it all - your highs and your lows.

“All we ask is that you try harder - and take some pride in the badge.

“If you win, celebrate with humility. If you lose, accept defeat gracefully.

“Hold your head high - and come off the pitch knowing you have given it your best.

“But most of all, enjoy every minute.

“In the blink of an eye you’ll be 30 and reminiscing about everything.

“Go make some memories - and ideally win some matches along the way.”

Talking of winning matches, they won last Wednesday - 3-0 against Sunderland.

And they celebrated in style…

After a disappointing first game of the season last week, the boys bounced back with an incredible performance beating Uni of Sunderland 3-0 with Kole Pratt grabbing a brace and Adam Nash with the one. UP THE TASC❤️🖤
